Sostudy the information very carefully and ask lots of questions.Seek out others who are already involved in a home basedbusiness and choose your suppliers based on service and on howlong they are in business. There are lots of forum out there andmost people in business don't mind answering your questions andhelping you if you will just ask them.2. Limit your time spent in your Online Business.It is important that you guard against becoming so busy that youbegin to neglect your family. If you are not careful, you willget drawn into this vicious cycle of wanting to do more and moreto the neglect of your family. Remember, success doesn't comeovernight and time away from the computer benefits you and yourfamily. So limit the amount of time spent in your business andbe certain that you have time for your family and familyactivities. You will be glad you did. 3. Don't believe everything the "gurus" tell you.Success with a Home Based business is not instantaneous,regardless of all fabulous offers that the "gurus" are touting.Each one has a website that says something like this: "earn$4,000 to $8,000 your first month." Another says, "make $200,000your first year." Another says that you can earn $300,000 thevery first year with no experience. Experience has taught methat success with a home based business does not come instantly,despite all the promises from the "gurus." Don't be stampededinto buying something just because the marketer tells you willmiss this great offer if you don't take advantage right now.Stop! Think about it. Don't worry! It will be available nextweek if you are still interested.4. Hold your credit cards in an iron fistWe are talking about spending your money here. Everyentrepreneur is trying to sell you something. That's theirbusiness and if you are not careful they will convince you tobuy their product. The problem is you don't need everything theyare selling. Credit cards make things very convenient and easy,too easy. The first thing you must do is, NEVER buy somethinglate at night. If you think it is something you "must" have,wait 24 hours and then purchase the item. If you don'tdiscipline your spending you will run out of something to spend.Rare is the case where we have to make a decision to buysomething immediately. Stop! Think about it! And wait at least24 hours before making a decision. It will save you lots ofmoney and grief. The solution is to discipline yourself to waitat least 24 hours before you purchase anything. Do this and youwill find that a lot of stuff you would have purchased looksdifferent 24 hours later. After waiting a day, if you still feelthat you need the item, buy it. This will save you lot and lotsof money.5. Don't give up.When you go into business for yourself it will be fun and easywhen you begin. After a while, the "honey moon" will be over.Sales probably won't be what you expected and you find that youare spending more money that you had anticipated. At this point,the thought that maybe I should not have gone into this businesswill begin to cross your mind. These are thoughts that all of ushave had at one time or another. Don't give up! Suck it up andkeep working. Yes, it get frustrating when sales are low and youare not receiving many hits on your website, but keep going.When I went in business I had six months of very little trafficand no sales and it got very frustrating but in the seventhmonth things begin to turn around. Sales started coming in andthings changed. If I had quit that first six months, I wouldhave never been successful. Successful people are successfulbecause they didn't quit.
